1.26.16 | Frank Juarez has been nominated for the 2015 Golden Apple Award. This award is presented by the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce. On February 26, the recipient will be announced. Keep those fingers crossed.

9.7.14 | Frank Juarez will be presenting at the 2015 Wisconsin Art Education Association Fall Conference in Milwaukee on October 24+25, 2014. He will be presenting on the 365 Artists 365 Days Project and the Midwest Artist Studios ™  Project

The 365 Artists 365 Days Project | This presentation will introduce educators to a collection of contemporary artists living in the US and beyond. This project aims to increase literacy within the classroom, answer difficult questions that students may have about the visual arts after high school and college graduation, and provide a platform for inquiry and networking.

Midwest Artist Studios ™  Project | The presentation introduces educators to artists who embrace the importance of art education, believe that their art experience was influenced or shaped by their K-12 art education, and are following their artistic dreams. The visits described will depict a close and personal approach into the studio lives of artists.

9.7.14 | Frank Juarez will be presenting at the 2015 National Art Education Association Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, in late March. He will be presenting on Connecting Visual Literacy to Textural Literacy. 

This presentation is designed to expose, educate and engage student learners into the world of contemporary art practices found throughout the United States and beyond. Interconnecting the Gradual Release and Responsibility Model and the 365 Artists 365 Days Project into the curriculum presents art students, grades 9-12, the opportunity to read and connect visual literacy to textual literacy with a variety of artistic styles and genres. Through collaborative works they will point out the main idea and details of the artists’ work with specific examples that exists within specific genres, which will compliment the teacher’s current project. As a result, they will develop a platform that enables them to delve into the creative process with the outcome being influenced with ideas based on originality, creativity and individualism.
